Bangladesh may not be the first country that comes to mind when thinking about roller coasters and theme parks, but it has a rich history when it comes to these thrilling rides. The first roller coaster in Bangladesh was built in 1981 at the Dhaka Zoo. This wooden coaster, called “Fantasy Kingdom”, was a popular attraction for visitors and set the stage for the development of more roller coasters in the country.
Throughout the 1990s, more amusement parks started to pop up in Bangladesh, each one featuring its own unique roller coasters. In 1991, the Nandan Park opened with its first roller coaster, followed by the Water Kingdom amusement park in 1999, which featured a roller coaster named “Scream Machine”. These rides were met with huge success and led to even more parks, like the Foy’s Lake Amusement World, to include roller coasters in their attractions.
Today, there are numerous roller coasters scattered throughout amusement parks in Bangladesh, with new ones constantly being built. These rides provide an exciting escape for locals and tourists alike, and have become an integral part of the country’s entertainment industry.
